Ed Mattox was born in Aberdeen on September 9, 1958 to Azalene Brown Mattox and the late Quinn F. Mattox. He and Anita Henley Mattox have been married for thirty years and have three children. Ed and Anita, and their children, all graduated from Aberdeen High School.
Ed is the third generation owner of Mattox Feed Mill and Nursery.
He is a past president of the Mississippi Feed and Grain Association and still serves on the association's board of directors. Ed is an active member and past president of the Aberdeen Rotary Club, which honored him with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award. He has also enjoyed being a high school football official for the past fifteen years.
The Mattoxes are active members of First United Methodist Church of Aberdeen, where he serves as Sunday School Superintendent.
He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1980 with a degree in agricultural economics and served as treasurer of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity while a student at MSU.
